The Riders’ youth mountain bike program is back for Summer 2017
The Rippers is a mountain bike program for kids in the Mad River Valley. It’s based out of Blueberry Lake with rides and coaching for kids from age 6 to 13. Rides are every Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM from May 30 through September 26 except for July 4. The cost is minimal - $50 for the season and free to Vermont Mountain Bike Association members. Scholarships are available. Attendance at 8 or more sessions earns a free Rippers t-shirt. Email email@example.com for a registration form.
Kids will be placed into small groups based on age, experience, and riding style. Each group will be teamed up with experienced and trained adult riders. If you’ve never ridden singletrack, you’ll learn how. If you already ride, you’ll get a lot better. You’ll definitely have fun and you can end the day with a swim in the lake. Parents are welcome to ride with us.
In addition to the regular rides at Blueberry Lake, there will be seven advanced rides for 11 to 13 year olds who are confident riding singletrack. The advanced rides are approximately every 2 weeks throughout the summer at various locations in the Mad River Valley. Drop-off and pick-up locations are different for each ride. The advanced rides are also Tuesdays from 5 to 7 PM. If you’re interested, just let us know by email and we’ll send you a detailed schedule.
Pre-registration is required. To sign up, just email Bob Kogut at firstname.lastname@example.org. He’ll send you a registration form, waiver, and more detailed information about the program. Please consider becoming a member of the Mad River Riders. Memberships support programs like the Rippers and helps us build more trails like the network at Blueberry Lake. Just go to madriverriders.com or vmba.org to join. We’re also looking for volunteers, 14 and older, to help with the Rippers. Just email Bob if you’re interested.
