The Riders’ youth mountain bike program is back for Summer 2018
The Rippers is a mountain bike program for young people in the Mad River Valley, open to all kids, regardless of home address. Rides are generally based at the Blueberry Lake trail network. The program is open to anyone from age 3 through high schoolers. We’re also looking for volunteer ride guides.
Pre-registration is required. Rides are every Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM from June 5 through September.
The cost is minimal - $50 for the season or free to Vermont Mountain Bike Association members. Scholarships are available. Attendance at 8 or more sessions earns a free Rippers t-shirt. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for a registration form or fill out the form below.
To sign up, email Bob Kogut at email@example.com for a registration form and waiver or fill out the form below. Please consider becoming a member of the Mad River Riders. Memberships support programs like the Rippers and help us build more trails like the network at Blueberry Lake. Go to madriverriders.com or vmba.org to join.
Riders will be placed into small groups based on age, experience, and riding style. Each group will be teamed up with experienced and trained adult riders. If you’ve never ridden singletrack, you’ll learn how. If you already ride, you’ll get a lot better. You’ll definitely have fun and you can end the day with a swim in the lake. Parents are welcome to ride with us.
In addition to the regular rides at Blueberry Lake, there will be optional advanced rides for kids confident riding more challenging terrain. The advanced rides will rotate through various Mad River Valley locations and also run Tuesdays from 5 to 7 PM.
